Special London classification for inner London area: Dewey for other areas (printed books).

189,000 books, 1170 cubic metres of archives (around) 100,000 units, 15,000 microforms.

Special collections or strengths:

London history in all its aspects is the core interest of the library with other special collections including business history, historic trade directories, historic English law reports, British parliamentary papers and statutes, Lloyd’s marine collection, clock and watch making, food and wine, John Wilkes, Samuel Pepys, Sir Thomas More and Charles Lamb (printed books).
